i decided… first: I am going to post my 365 project on flickr to maybe help keep me going. I will stay super organized and so on BUT we’ll see because, second: i hate flickr. I don’t like their upload ‘rules’ and their editing options because i can’t figure out how to reorganize the files i am uploading. I have to upload them all individually to get them in the ‘upload’ order I want them in. Anyone know if there is another way?

Anyways – for now, you can go to flickr and search for ‘photo*guru’. That is my user name. I know – real cool, huh? I picked it a while ago when I was trying to “stand out in a crowd.” OR click here —-> photo*guru
Feel free to leave me comments on the pictures! I love notes!!! I’ll post more pictures soon – maybe even this weekend. I’ve got a real nice Saturday planned. Shopping for camera stuff, props and dog boutique type items.

Have a lovely Wednesday!

oh – side note: the photo at the top of the post is my ‘title page’ for my project. I thought it would be fun to have a first page and a last page when I print it off an organize them.

longest work day ever…

Today I am pretty sure is the longest day ever. No matter what the sun and solstice tells me, today is the longest.

I have been editing photos most of the day for my 365 project. I am having fun, but I seem to get desperate in the evening when I haven’t taken a picture yet. Therefore, there was about 1 week of photos of my computer screen, my edited pictures or a stack of books not well composed. I am glad I noticed the “issue” early in January, or else this would have been a boring year. I need to get more inspired. I find it hard when I work during most of the light hours of the day, and the other couple are spent showering, eating breakfast and doing my hair.

Here are a few of the newer pictures from the project:

De-lish! For Christmas I got this little kitchen gadget. It is a frother. And it is amazing! I have been making lattes at home like.it.is.my.job! I love em (and my little machine). My theory is you can never have too many kitchen gadgets, unless of course, you have way tooo many kitchen gadgets (…dad).

Mur was up this weekend and we went and sampled some wine at a local wine bar and also got a delicious order of mussels. The event of the picture isn’t super exciting but I like the image (in part for content and in part for color 🙂 )

It is lovely and snowy up here. The word ‘lovely’ is a new addition since last week when we hoped for a high in the single digits. The sun has been shining and the temp has gone up significantly. This photo was snapped while skiing over the weekend. And now I remember why I sometimes like winter.

slight side note: I am super excited because I have found a ton of dog boutiques around town that I am going to swoop into and peddel my photography. I hope some of them are interested! Maybe even enough they would want me to decorate their walls!  I am so anxious for the weather to get nicer to be able to play more outside with my ‘clients.’

Until next time – toodles!

Carefree, AZ

As I sit here staring out the slightly frozen window, I actually have mixed feelings about AZ. It was beautiful as well as totally WONDERFUL to be away from the cold, snow and ick for a few days, however I do love MN and all that I’ve got going on here. So with that sentimental introduction, let me show you pictures from our resort in the desert…

I couldn’t help but take pictures of Cacti. They are so lovely in all their prickly-ness and non-native to the North-ness. It was like they would call to me to take their photo to bring back to all them Minn-e-sotans who ooh and aah over Oaks and Maples. Take that water loving plants! {Keep that in mind when I bombard you with photos from New Mexico in early March.}

This is part of our porch. It looked so ‘Southwest’ in the middle part of the day with the sun a shining. Gorgeous. That sun was so refreshing!

I don’t have much new to post. Oh – I became a member of Twitter because people told me to at the convention {talk about that for a peer pressure example}. Not totally sure what it does, so if anyone has advice/knowledge/suggestions/jokes feel free to pass them along my-a-way.

In part because of my numerous attempts at some bad jokes, I am off to bed. The morning is already calling, and I’m not even ready to hit snooze!

ideas, ideas, ideas

I got back late last night from Digital Imaging USA and DWF. It was very insightful! I worked at WHCC’s booths {which by the way, were super sweet! We had a double decker booth at one, that you could see the rest of the conference from} and I learned a lot about working a booth, talking to clients face to face and talking with other vendors. I also got knowledge for my own photography business as well as AWESOME new ideas for products to offer. Holy cow! Super excited about quite a few of those. I will post pictures once I pick and choose what I’m going to offer… It should be suuuper exciting!

I also took some real fun pictures of looooads of cactus (or cacti) on one of my afternoon strolls near the spa at our resort (i tried to type that with an air of Hollywood fame … just call me jLo.) We stayed at a gorgeous resort in Carefree, AZ. But of course, because I got home so late and pretty much hit a wall once I saw my bed, I don’t have those pictures ready to post. I’ll post later tonight, because I think they are sweet 🙂

Have a lovely Wednesday (that feels like Monday, and that is delightful)
