Holy Cowabunga!
Did you know that there are about 62,000,000 active websites out there? And I am trying to make one. I guess I am not just trying to make one, but I am trying to make a special one. Sheesh! There are so many options! Do I purchase a template? How do I make a template cool? How do I interpret all the flash goodies? Do I spend money on an overall hosting/design hub? What if I don’t like it? …. So many questions!
Anyone out there have any suggestions for me on websites and where to get one? I would love some opinions!!
I am pretty excited for tomorrow. Nothing real big is happening, but I plan to enjoy the approaching winter weather from the comfort of a blanket, slippers and cup of hot cocoa. Doesn’t that sound delightful? After working today, ultimately making the day feel like a Friday which, in essence, robs me of a Saturday, I am excited for my 1 precious day tomorrow. The week ahead will be a long one. 10 hour days + hours on Saturday. I just need to remind myself, 5 day weekends! 5 day weekends! I feel fortunate that for Christmas and New Years I have 5 days for each. That is a lot of time in the working world! Now, to get there.
Last week my dad and I decided that we were finally dusting off the Christmas Card list and sending out New Years cards! I am super excited because that means I get to design them.
Warning: Potential Spoiler Below….
I have posted the tentative front to the card. If I have your mailing address, it is quite possible you will get this card. If you want to be surprised, skip the image below.

So that’s the cover. I like it. It’s silly and fun, yet simple, which is pretty much the essence of my family. More is in store for the recipients, including fun photos.
Speaking of fun photos, I have more puppy pics from last weekend. I didn’t get any more posted through the week because I was just pooped after work! Here are some more of the photo-shoot from the last week 1/2…

The little investigator.
“Little: small in size; not big, large, or great”… Even though this word does not describe my dog in the least, it still seems to be an appropriate term. I like to think of her as a little puppy when she gets all wild and crazy.
Anyways, that is quite enough jibber-jabber for tonight/this morning/now. I must get some sleep! I am not accustomed to staying up this late anymore, which in some respects is a shame. But now is not the time to re-dwell on sleep habits, instead I must succumb to the sleep.
Good night all!
A Sunday That Feels Like a Monday
I can’t resist! I have so many super fun Roux pics I must post, I think there will be a flood of them in the next few days. That’s ok, right? I took several hundred pictures of the Queen yesterday while the afternoon sun was beaming onto our wood floors, red rug and content puppy. It was an overall fantastic Saturday!

I wanted her to play with a few toys that haven’t gotten as much attention lately because they are at the bottom of her toy box so… enter GoodPaw Tire. It is not a favorite, but it is pretty stinkin cute!

I uncovered the great orange chair! It has been in my basement since I brought it back in from the yard. That chair does not fit through doorways the best, so I think it might be stuck where it is until the snow melts.

I feel like Mrs. Roux looks quite knowledgeable in this one. Almost like it should be the photo on the back of her first book. “The Life and Times of a Suburban Pup” …. It has a ring to it, no?
You know what else has a ring to it? Me taking pictures of YOUR beloved!
It sounds like I am taking pictures of a kitty come the new year. I’m excited for that! Anyone who knows anything about me knows how much I Love (with a huge capitol L) kitty cats. I find them to be tricky to photograph though, because they are usually content just sleeping. Don’t get me wrong, a tiny puff ball sound asleep on a pillow is as cute as a button, but there is so little energy and expression to work with. Regardless of my preconceived ideas, I am excited for the challenge to get more than just 2 cute pictures 🙂 Sign me up, Jo!

Speaking of cats…. I simply LOVE this picture! It is me, my parents and my kitty cat, Molly. Our little family. I’m not sure what New Years this is but it must have been either 1993 or 1994. With that flash back, I will bid you adieu. Have a swell night! And Monday!
Cuddle Bug of Winter
I am so glad today is Saturday. And I am also so glad that it is a sunny Saturday in MPLS. This morning I had an eye exam which went rather well. The puff test only took 1 attempt in each eye (which is much better than my usual 3 or 4). Turns out I am not much more blind then I was 2 years ago. Always good to know. Now, it is time to spend a medium sized fortune on more contacts. My jaw dropped at the eye doctors when they told me how much it would cost, and I assumed on line would be much cheaper. Silly me! Time to save those pennies.
I am pretty excited for the rest of my day! My plan is to be all kinds of crafty. I took more Roux pics a little while ago, I’ve edited a few others (see magnificent dog below), I am having a glorious cup of hot cocoa while typing a new blog post, I will be baking cookies with my aunt in a while while she is creative, I plan to draw up some proposals to send to a few businesses about why working with me and my dog photography is an awesome idea for them and then i plan to round my night out with maybe a little scrapbooking 🙂 We’ll see how crazy I get.
The other day I said I was going to the dog park with Roux. Well, that didn’t exactly happen as planned. Instead, we went out back and played on the pond. And boy, a dog trying to run (and stop) at full speed on ice is hilarious! At the start of our play date, she seemed to have a ton of energy, which is where the stick series was born:

How much fun is she? Sticks are one of her favorite things! Roux will tear around the backyard often looking for a stick, a small log or a full sized branch afterwhich she will prance back up the house, so proud of her amazing find. That is something that she is proud enough of she will let me take her picture with.
Another element I am trying to capture is Roux napping. Since it is what she spends a good amount of her time doing, I feel it is an aspect of her that I need pictures of. Unfortunately, that is easier said than done. Dogs seem to usually sleep with one eye open, always ready to play or eat. Because of that, if i try to sneak up on Roux, I immediately loose my shot by the inevitable tail wagging or belly rolling. I will not give up! I will achieve the shot! I am a warrior!
I wanted to send a shout out to anyone who is a bit interested in any of my photography, to contact me because I have holiday prices! I am so excited people like my work, so I am adjusting some prices so more people might be able to purchase photographs or other kinds of work. You can get a hold of me via the contact page over —-> there.
Have a marvelous Saturday everyone!
Long Few Weeks
With the visit of friends and family, I feel like I have had little time to compose a blog post. Now is the time. Amidst my mass amounts of work, trying to budget for the holidays (totally not going well, by the way) and finding cheap places to advertise for Chocolate Moose Images.
I hope every one’s Thanksgiving was swell! And that it involved at least a bit of festive-ness. Murray came up for the weekend to spend Thanksgiving with my family and I, and then to ‘putts’ around town for the rest of the weekend. We decided on camping Saturday night which turned out to be great! The weekend was starting to wear on me, so I only had a little energy, but it sure was nice to be outside all day and night. Yes, it was cold, but honestly not too bad if dressed right with the right ‘bag.’ Here are a few pics from that adventure:

We went to Lake Maria State Park, which is located near Monticello, MN. We were the only tent campers there, which also made the already quiet park that much more quiet. There was a lake down the hill from our site that was nicely frozen, so I took advantage of the sunset to get a few pictures.

The reeds had such neat “puckers” to them when frozen. I couldn’t resist!
I am excited to have Roux home with me tomorrow. We are headed to the dog park bright and early to get her some exercise and me some pictures. I hope there are some other fun dogs there!
Well, my ability to stay up till the wee hours of the night is not quite as great as it used to be back in those college days. Sheesh, how long ago those were 😉 Have a great night and tomorrow!
