Yesterday would have been my Mom’s 60th birthday!  I feel silly I didn’t actually do the math yesterday but for some reason 2010-1950 seemed challenging. Go figure 🙂 I wrote the date most of the day so it was a constant reminder of her birthday which was nice. It seems kinda crazy but it really did make me thankful that I couldn’t forget the anniversary since it would have been/was a real monumental one! So in honor of my mom, here are a few fun photos I love of us. Happy Birthday Mom! You would have been one rockin 60 year old!!

Baby’s early camping trip! I am real thankful my parents introduced me to the outdoors as early as they did. I have an appreciation for it that I may not have otherwise had.

Meeting dad for a Mc Donald’s picnic lunch one day. The group shot of this includes me picking my nose but I thought I would leave that one out 🙂

This one and the next are from a project that I did in school. It was a fantastic project, in fact! We were given total freedom to pretty much do whatever we wanted so long as it was something that really had meaning to us and dealt with family. I picked a mixture of images/scanned pieces/digital elements to create several different collages. I really put a lot of heart and soul into it and am real pleased with the outcome! It is a very personal project and I think that was reflected throughout them.

My mom had the greatest, albeit sometimes illegible, handwriting! And one of things I have really loved to do in recent years is to take note of how it evolved through letters, journals, cards and scrapbooks over the years. I imagine all the things I can do with today’s technology and different pieces of her documented life. Really all these pieces we have are such a huge chunk of inspiration just waiting for me to dive in that I can’t wait to get really committed to it.

In conclusion, one thing I know she would want for everyone on her birthday and every other day of the year is…happiness  so live your life filled with it 🙂
